Wanatani Lestari
In Harmony with Nature Together We Shape the Future
Founded in late 2022 in Yogyakarta, BHAVANA is an organization that aims to create a platform for collaboration to create sustainable living spaces for people and nature.
As our first project, we created and ran Wanatani Lestari as an agroforestry and reforestation initiative that aims to restore ecosystems and contribute to the socio-economic development of surrounding communities.
We made it!
In 2024, more than 105,000 wood and fruit tree seedlings have been distributed to the farmers in 8 cities/districts, 17 sub-districts, and 27 villages/sub-districts across Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java.
Program Activities
The program is an agroforestry and land rehabilitation program with the general public, partners (cooperatives & community organizations) and farmers who want to engage in better agricultural practices.
The program provides technical support, training, and free access to seedlings.
It helps farmers plant trees on their land for protection and restoration purposes and provides the necessary technical training.
